I've decided i want to run my xc bike as 1*9 with one of those new MRP XC guides. Thing is, i have those flappy Shimano XT dual control shifters/levers. Would it be possible to replace the lever/shifter unit with one from another shimano groupset? I rather like the look of this deore one:

i have run hayes brakes frome hope levers and shimano from formula levers

as lons as the fitting is the same (or goodrich hose it) and the fluid is the same then it should work

Cool, i know they both use mineral oil and i guess Shimano brakes all run the same hose so it should be a go-er.

All Shimano disc calipers and levers are interchangable.
