Second hand Honzo or Stache?

I ended up with a Genesis High Latitude. I was limited in what was available through the store I got C2W in, plus I wanted steel, so much of what was suggested wasn’t suitable. 69.5 is slack-ish for a 29er I guess though not quite the geometry I was after. I am going to ride it as it is and will try a slackset at a later date if I feel the need.

There’s a medium Packwood X9 in TK Max at Meadowlark, Edinburgh for £699 – £300 off the On One site price.

Someone else mentioned seeing them in other TK Maxxs last week I think? Worth checking out.

I’m on my second Trek Stache and love it. Latest one is running 140mm Revs and rides well. I’d like slightly shorter chainstays (which you’ll get with a Kona Honzo or Taro)

Most likely looking second-hand for a Stache though as the 2015s don’t seem to be available in the UK. One or two places have new pones left in limited sizes on line though.

It was originally mine then I swapped it for a 26″ full suss only to recently sell the suspension bike to go back to a Stache (whoops)

If you want a really cheap option buy a 2010 Gary Fisher / Trek Paragon or similar. Sold as a XC bike with an 80mm fork with a 70 degree head angle and low bottom bracket. I fitted a 120mm fork which slackened the head angle to about 68 degrees and raised the BB slightly. I weigh over 200 lbs and thrashed this thing over rocky descents with no issues. I have a Solaris now which has virtually identical geometry, cost more and is heavier.

Slightly leftfield option but if you have some spare bits around you could probably build up a nice Stooge for that sort of money
