replacing a hob that is 600 wide with a 600 wide extractor above and cupboards either side of the canopy
bought a 750 wide hob with a wok burner / front controls that will fit in 570 wide hole

looking again what worries me is potential for burners to be closer to the cupboards than should be? or is a hob designed to fit a 600 wide unit ok with a 600 wide gap above?
rather than wait for gas engineer to tut tut i could just cancel it now

    thanks

You should have 750mm of clear space above the burners, and 366mm clearance at the side. Sounds like you are at risk of toasting the bottom of the adjacent wall units. I wouldn't do it.

If the hob is less than 580mm (think thats still the crrect figure) frm the bottom of the cupboard then it breaches corgi regulations and would invalidate your house insurance, any corgi plumber should know this and refuse to fit it.
