Just watched him on BBCi player Later with Jools and I know we all have off days but he was totally dreadful. The backing was fine but I really just don't get why he's so often referred as "one of the best guitarists ever" – oh really?

I'm off to see Mark Knopfler next week at Brighton – now there's a top guitarist!

Yep, I thought that was a really odd choice, not that well played and just weird.
Being a non guitar player I'm not able to say 'I could do better then that' but I've seen and heard lots of guitarists and it didn't seem to have the accuracy needed for the performance he seemed to be trying to do. It was all over the place.

Alicia Keyes was pretty good though, and I aint an AK fan.

just watched it – I think he was embarrassed himself by that performance. The head thumping at the end summed it up. truly awful.
