Any quick way to deterine whether a table is oak or pine from pictures. I think its pine but just wanted to double check its not oak.JUst looking at buying it.

Definitely looks like oak to me. Probably laminated too.

Pretty sure it’s not laminated. Looks like solid oak, just narrow planks glued together with a surround. Pretty nasty looking orange lacquer on there though. A good sanding back to bare timber, coat of clear hardwax oil and you’d have yourself a not too bad table there – certainly better than an equivalent in pine. You’d need a decent orbital sander though to get all traces of lacquer off.
