This will take a year to do, but have too many ideas about where to start…I like the thought of 160mm

I ride singlespeed & like it aggressive.

Anybody built one for absolute madness?

Got a 150mm Kona built up burly, 20mm Revs, Elixirs, Spank rims, RF Atlas cranks, Royal stem and 1×10 SLX/XTR gears. Lots of fun to ride and just chuck about.

I had my Evil Sovereign built up singlespeed for a while for simplicity/ indestructibility purposes. It was alright, but it’s a bike that really really demands to be wrung out, and you can’t really give it the beans on a descent if you run out of gears straight away. Got 1×9 with a full chain device now and it’s the best thing ever. EVER.

Cotic BFe if you break things (or are worried about breaking things). The clue is in the name!

What about a Bagger? Had my hands on the frame today…ariba ariba.

As already mentioned, BFe (own), Alpine (ridden) or a Soverign (no experience, but lots of fanboi’s) would be my choice.

I’d go for a BFe though I think you’ll have to use a tensioner for singlespeed to get it just right. Very fun frame to ride 🙂

Damnit! I now want a Cotic BFe instead of my Spesh Hardrock! looks like some penny saving…

I demo’d a couple of bikes like that this week; a Bfe with 160mm Wotan forks on and a Blue Pig X with 160mm 36 Vamilla’s. The Bfe was a small frame and it felt fun on the descents like a little dirt-jump/bmx, but with the long fork on it the seat angle was so slack I could not get the thing to do techy climbing at all. The Blue Pig was a larger frame and possibly on the big side for me and felt less playful, but it rode the downhills better than the bFe and it techy climbed like a whippet up a drainpipe in comparison.

i think its difficult to singlespeed really long travel forks unless you can wind them down to a 100mm.

After very little consideration, the Bfe is absolutely the way to go.

    Or a Bagger…

    Who has one of those?

Really have to run it singlespeed, my legs don’t do maths.

This is my BFe baby from my MoreDirt page…
    Proper hardcore!
    Proper mash-up material!
But blinkin’ good looking’ whilst tearin’ it up!
Fitted with a Ti seatpost to smooth out the ruff stuff
    The only way to go

I’m dead pleased with my Ragley Blue Pig X running 36 Vans. With the slack head angle it’s a blast on the downs but the steeper seat angle allows you to climb like a shorter travel bike. It’s a right hooligan 🙂 Since this pic was taken I’ve lost the big ring and fitted a Reverb.

I liked Yetiman’s BluePigX so much I bought this.

    No Stiffee pics yet!!

My first one which got nicked

My Second one which I sold (doh!)

I’m on the hunt for another one. They’re such good bikes, I took mine round CwmCarn, down the DH there, round Twrch trail, round Afan, down Wharncliffee, spent a few Sundays up at Rehill. They’re incredible!

Oh and my Crush (was OK, nothing on the Stiffee though)

OP, if you fancy a SC Chameleon I’m selling a frame in medium size, with headset and seatpost. It is the EBB model so single-speedable.

    Email in profile.

How about getting a custom Curtis build up with an EBB?

This my SS Dialled Alpine using an ISCG mounted blackspire stinger to tension the chain. Awesome bike! (Stem looks odd as there is a battery pack strapped to it)

Mine is a On-one Summer Season with 160mm up front. Its alot of fun, however I think it will a good idea at some point to run maybe 130mm forks instead! It gets alittle twitchy going up hills…
