Just wondering if anyone has any experience with an Infinity Saddle and if so what is the verdict?

yea ive heard that some people have had failure issues but to be honest even at the price they are charging if i went through one a year it would be worth it to keep riding.

    Ha! Not seen those before.

The cutouts so there is no pressure on the sit bones looks ingenious though.

    If it works.

Bloody expensive to take a punt on!😐

I’ve seen a few on audax rides and the folks that I have spoken to say that they are great for longer rides in comfort. But I wasn’t convinced of the durability after looking at them, especially given the price.
I think there is/ was a scheme where you can hire one to try and get the hire cost deducted from the purchase price if you decide to buy.

unfortunately the hire scheme doesn’t exist anymore and they are only available from the US. its really make or break for riding for me so whilst its an expensive punt the alternative is to stop riding altogether.

People didn’t marvel at your joke as much as they should’ve.

    Amazing.

I’ve found they give me a bit of a Thor butt.

My wife tried one. She found that the range of acceptable fore/aft position and angle was very limited so it took a lot of micro-fiddling to find a sweet spot. I had a few miles spin on her bike (which is too small for me) and also thought it would take a lot of shuffling to find a good spot.

Ultimately she found the saddle was too wide so the edges cut into her inner thighs (for ref, she’s a very athletic build, about 162cm/50kg). If they offered a narrower saddle, it may have worked.

It did alleviate sit bone pain though 😉

looks like im going to find out for myself. Placed an order last night and at the moment FedEx are suggesting a friday delivery! i cant imagine for a minute i will get it then but at least its on its way. i tried chopping up an old saddle to make something similar and i think there is definitely potential there. Either way its last chance saloon so fingers crossed.

so my saddle arrived today…nothing short of amazing as it was ordered at 10pm Tuesday night and delivered to my door this morning (Friday). Thats California to Kent via Memphis in 2 1/2 days, Royal Mail cant even get stuff to me that quickly from my LBS 30 miles away!

will give it a run tomorrow.

for anyone interested these saddles have proven to be the solution i was after. ive since tried a normal saddle which quickly aggravated my injury. essentially this means that these are the only saddles i can ride with so whilst expensive its this or stop riding.

the saddles are hand made and unfortunately one of mine came with rails that were bent slightly differently which changed the shape of the seat. infinity are sending replacement rails out so hopefully they will arrive soon enough.

long term reliability is still to be proven but once set up properly there is this ‘magic moment’ and their claim of the being the most comfortable saddle is spot on, at least for me.

so for anyone struggling with ‘cyclist syndrome’ or just unable to find a comfortable saddle then they are definitely worth a look. it takes about a week to make one and once dispatched have only taken 2 days to get from California to my front door. i guess that speaks more about UPS though.

anyway, in a nutshell its a game changer for me, in so much as im now able to stay in the game.

Interesting… my problem though, has always been rubbing from the edge of the saddle. And that sattle is ALL edge! Pretty certain it wouldn’t work for me 😊
