Have been caught out in the past with Maxxis’s seemingly random approach to tyre sizes when the 2.35 Minion I bought looked more like a road tyre.

How do 2.5 Minions shape up? Looking for some monster truck tyres to go on 32mm rims. Cheers all

2.5 Minion is a great sized DH tyre for riding and racing, its certainly not large. I run a singletrack rim with one on the front of my DH and it looks normal.

    Here is a 2.5 on a Mavic 729 (29mm).

I have been running one on the front single ply and a 2.25 ADvantage rear (will swap to Crossmark soon) for a few months now. On a Mavic321 rim is fine.
Fantastic and not much bigger than a proper sized tyre 2.35 blue groove/ nevagal.

Not “monster truck” size at all. Quite small for a 2.5 really.

I have a 2.4 Rubber Queen to flog if you want a big tyre, email in profile.

casing has relatively small volume for a 2.5″ tyre, but the tread is fairly chunky, especially the side lugs. Stick one on the front and you can’t go wrong. Enjoy 🙂
