I have just got a set of Pro11 evo hubs, i want to change the rear 9mm QR to a 10 mm bolt through,
this should stiffen up the rear end.
i was told on the evo hub it is possible to just change the cap’s on the hub for the 10mm type & then
simply change the axle to a 10mm one. I have located the cap’s but can’t find anyone selling the 10mm bolt through axle.

Any idea’s would be appreciated 💡

this should stiffen up the rear end.

    Is it that noticeable.?

A bit of googling suggests you only have to change the end cap, unless you want to swap to bolt-in?

IIRC the new evo has a different axle so whereas before you would need to swap axles with the end caps (narrow bore section) you can just swap end caps 🙂 (already has a 10mm bore).

I have a five maybe should have orderd the maxle, so i thought it would be a good idea to eliminate any possibility of any flexing at the rear.
Yes i can understand as to just change the cap’s will work but can’t locate the 10mm axle with the bolt on each end. Hadley do one but who is selling it.
Maybe it is not possible to do as there are lot’s of 12mm one’s for sale.

Did the same to my Five but used a 10mm qr from Superstar

Same bigger axle but easy to undo.
I’m running non evo ProII so bought the axle and 10mm cap kit from CRC.
UK Bike store have the 10mm kit for Evo hubs
