    Planning to ride Helvellyn.
    What is the consensus on the best route?

    Searching shows mixed views.

    Depends what you are into really. The climb from the north end at Dockray isn’t too bad, and the ride along the ridge is great. The descent down Dollywagon/Grisedale is good but mega techy – the top section on the steps to Grisedale tarn was too much for me at the time.
