    Slightly different method that takes the slack out of the lever here

    I’d not recommend doing it with the pads in like he says, unless you have an old set you want to use. Just judge it by the pistons moving.

    Pressurising these brakes before locking off the bleed screw is a bit of a recipe for popping the m/c plug when the brakes get hot and the fluid expands. A similar effect can be had by servicing the caliper(full strip and clean, and re-assembly with silicone grease on the seals and pistons), long lever travel on a properly bled brake is usually down to sticky pistons not self adjusting properly.
