I know that groupsets come in different variations but why do shimano not publish the weights of their groupsets?

I imagine it wuold become complicated adn meaningless given all teh variations.

and published weights usually ‘vary’ to actual weights, ie, less…

But the easy answer is:

XTR is lightest, then XT, then SLX, etc etc

Wasn’t there a thread a few weeks back where someone had weighed like for like XT & SLX components? IIRC the weight difference was naff all, cost difference quite a lot.

No data on mtb gruppos but road 105 (5700) comes in 169g heavier than Ultegra (6700).
Both identical spec. and excluding hubs.
