I have Fox RL32 2009 140mm forks. They do not seem as responsive as my previous foxes. Today on Whites at Afan i stopped to let a smidge of air out and some green stuff came out the Schreader valve. Is this normal? does this mean i have oil where it should not be?

I have read in some random sites that turning the forks upside down, letting all the air out will get more of the green hectoplasm looking stuff out and it will make my forks more subtle. Is this a pile of tosh?

Sounds like Float Fluid – should be about a teaspoonful in the air chamber. Doesn’t sound like a problem that it’s there (though you don’t want too much to come out).

No idea about getting the fork to be more responsive though..

Float fluid coming out of the valve is perfectly normal.
Dont do it upside down though!!
Its worthwhile sitting the bike upside down for 10 mins before a ride as this helps keep the upper bushings well lubricated.
