I have a set of Fox 32 Float RL FIT on my Zesty that have recently started to have noticeable amounts of play in the bushes. At first it felt abit like a loose headset but it certainly isn't that.
When rocking the bike back and forth with the front brake on and with a hand wrapped around the fork seal you can clearly feel movement between the stanchion and lower legs. It's also noticeable when riding and can cause the forks to creak!
Anyone else experienced this?
Bike was new in early March and i stick to the 15hr wiper seal services, which isn't all that often as i have 2 bikes.
You might have a warranty claim there but If not I had the bushes tightened on a set of Fox Floats that had a bit of play in them at TFTuned, you could get them Pushed at the same time.
Lets hope it's a warranty claim as i can't afford any additional work 😐
I'll give MOJO a call in the morning.
i have had the exact same scenario as described above but with a pair of Magura Thor forks. I got them at the start of the year and after about 30hrs the play was so bad that it was causing the forks to creak loads.
They are currently back with magura who are sorting them out under warranty and will be interested to hear the reasons.
have had this myself in the past... its a fox 'thing ' - wont be getting another pair!

They put a certain amount of wobble down to clearances for the hydrodynamic bearings which is sound in principle. However, having felt a mates forks after they came back from TFT, I'm sorely tempted to get mine in the post.
Just to argue the toss - I have had 4 pairs of Fox Forks (non FIT) and no bushing play at all (sl scratching of my Talas uppers after I left them too long but other than that no major probs).
Snowpaul....In my experience it's certainly not a Fox 'thing'. I've previously owned 2006 Float RL, 2006 Vanilla R, 2007 Float RL, 2008 Vanilla R and still own some 2006 Talas. None of these suffered from this so something ain't right.
Dropped the forks into Mojo on my way to Cwmcarn and apparantly that amount of play in the bushes is normal, all part of the Hydro-dynamic process. Strange how it isn't in any of my previous forks or the 2 other pairs i use!
They kept them anyway and i'll get them back shortly.
Funny, but the amount of play Mojo thinks is needed for the hydrodynamic principle is different from the amount TFT think it needs.
Mine did this. Fox wouldn't fix them, said they are supposed to be like that.
run rockshox now...
I'll see what they're like when they return, if no different then i'll save my pennies and send them to TF Tuned prior to our late summer Alps trip i reckon.
Had my kashima fit float 32's for six weeks when this problem developed, feels like a loose headset, play or knocking in the left leg. Sent forks back to fox under warranty, just the same again after a two hour ride. Not very good considering the cost. Should I send then back again? Should they be repaired or replaced? Don't really fancy being without my new bike again for another two weeks!
Not a big reviewer of products but thought it necessary to post my experience:
Fox 32 Talas which came stock on a 2010 Remedy was returned to Fox less than a year ago due to creaking from the crown where it attaches to the stantions. Fox warranted the issue and sent back fork with supposedly new internals, top crown, and stantions. Creak was gone. Today I confirmed the fork is suffering from the same issues it was when we sent it back the first time.
Pros: Fox warrantied it's product at no charge & it's a good feeling fork (less creaking)
Cons: Creak is awful when riding; Takes 3+ weeks off the bike to warrant; costs shipping and shop labor to reinstall.
Buyer beware.
Its extremely unlikely that the creaking noise is linked to play in the bushes. Everything inside the fork is wet with oil so a creak from a bush/stanchion interface is pretty much unheard of.
Mojo are super helpful so i'm sure they'll help you as best they can
My warranty job from Mojo last week took 4 days - I sent them on the Tuesday and had them back by the Friday.
For some balance in recent years I've owned 2010 Fox F100 RL, 2008 32 Talas RL, 2009 32 Talas RLC, 2009 32 Float 140, 2011 32 Talas RLC and none of them have suffered from bushing play.
yup, having the same issue. glad to find this post. thought i had a loose headset but upon further inspection clearly felt the play in the stanchions when wrapping my hand around the fork. looks like I'll be dropping the remedy off at the shop tomorrow. fairly disappointed especially since I just got it back from warranty work after what rider72680 said about his talas - bad creaking in the crown/steer tube interface. oh well at least it's a sweet fork when it's problem free...
