I found my car with a pancake-flat tyre the other day. Changed the wheel and took it to kwik-fit – the wee gadge there took the flat tye off, checked it, re-mounted it and checked for air leaks – seemed absolutely fine. Think he also changed the valve. It’s fine today.

How can you get a flat tyre like this on a motor? Is the likeliest explanation some kid let it down? Or can they air-burp like a bike tyre if there’s a problem with the bead, you go over a pot hole etc?

Most likely a faulty valve although it could be a rusty rim *chortle* if you’re running steel wheels.

We had a tyre leak where the rim had been ground a bit to remove corrosion so the tyre bead hadn’t seated & sealed correctly.

Or someone decided to let the tire down.
