So, after selling up all my MTB gear etc after medical advice after bad injury, I had a few years to get fat and unfit whist messing about with assorted gyms and not really getting anywhere, I was loaned a bike and bought myself some new lights, Last night I headed out, on the lower slopes and the Scout road side of Rivington, good weather, great views and good to be out again, a few things I had forgotten about and a few things I didn't like….
Dislikes
1. Sh1t still tastes like sh1t, especially coming up off the from wheel
2. Waist Belt on the rucksack is too tight, more riding will fix that
3. The first 10 minutes of riding alone and the shadows
4. Taking a wrong turn, bugger
5. Being unfit and fat
Likes
1. Being out riding at night on my own (after the first 10 minutes)
2. Looking out on all of Bolton and Manchester below me, brilliant view and worth the effort
3. The quiet
4. The descent off Scout road before hitting tarmac to go home
5. Just getting out and doing the ride
Aiming for a couple more rides over the weekend need to attempt to get a bike that isn't to small for me
