I bought a Trek Superfly with a press fit bottom bracket, and here we are less than 1000km later and the drive side bearing is shot. Not amused really.

It’s Shimano code is SM-BB91-41.

So two questions for you nice helpful people;

1) Should I just do a straight replacement or is there a superior product out there, perhaps involving fitting some sort of adapter and then a square taper BB? (slightly tongue in cheek, then I’d have to replace the Hollowtech II cranks also).

2) What tools shall I require to do the job neatly and economically?

Advice will be to stick with shimano. You just knock the bearings out with a punch, and depending on fit press fit by hand or you could use a threaded bar. I had a slightly loose bb so it was creaking a little and shimano was too loose for me.. I went for a hope ceramic and bought the fitting tool. Winstanleys was the cheapest. Not a cheap approach but I’m very happy. The cranks just spin no spin. Ian positive I can feel less drag in the drive. And yes I know you can get 5 shimano bobs for the price of one hope.
