Too early to pin any hope on the Beeb speculating.

Exit polls are like weather forecasts. They have a reputation for being wrong but have actually been getting more accurate over time.

If only they had cameras in the party HQs like they do with big football matches in pubs! I would remortgage my house right now to be in the room with May and Boris.

    Stunned. Absolutely stunned.

If this turns out to be the case then the Tories are seriously going to struggle for the next term – they’ve done huge amounts of damage to the UK in the last few years – some of which for me as a (previous) lifetime Tory voter will struggle to forgive them for. I suspect they’ll have lost their place as the ‘natural’ party of leadership that many in the UK have previously seen them as and this may do them long term damage.
    Damage done:
    1. Taking super high house prices and sending them into the stratosphere simply to help them win an election and holding back a whole generation
    2. Brexit
    3. Making us the laughing stock of Putin and the rest of the world by calling this election and utterly fudging it…

Edit: Boris will be loving this. Why do you think he stayed away from the leadership election last year? He knew it was a poisoned chalice

I think it’s safe to say that the 150 seat majority was optimistic though

Please let the exit poll be accurate.

I’m starting to wish I’d been brave enough to put a bet on, finger was hovering a few times, as the odds on NOM just seemed too good.

Still think the Tories will do it unfortunately. It’s a shame JC didn’t use Keith Starmer more to reassure people that they are the best choice to handle Brexit.

Exit polls are usually right – apart from those pesky 92 and 15 elections that is.

They called 2015 remember Ashdowns if that is right i will eat my hat comment

Looks like some of the RW may be deeply disappointed

Perhaps the only issue now is how long May lasts as its unlikely to be the landslide she wanted/expected.

seems like a bit of fun to be the first to declare, I just hope they count properly……

I reckon the snp loss is overstated.

Well well. Checked to see “other” exit polls but ITV, BBC and Sky are all using the same poll.

Still cannot see anything but a comfortable Tory win but clearly poll suggests otherwise.

I’ll take a big loss for the SNP if there is a hung parliment and the tories get shut out.

The hard brexiteers apparently number about 30-40. THis result will give them waaaay to much sway over the next Tory leader and therefore over the negotiations. If so I suspect the UK will not be a pleasant place as that particular group do NOT represent the people as a whole…

I think it’s safe to say that jamba’s latest 75 majority was optimistic

exit polls seem to be accurate then within a few seats. Might be enough fudge in them that May still gets a majority, but it’s hardly the overwhelming mandate she wanted, and in itself that would do me….

what it does is force her ,if she is the govt, to do a deal with other parties

BBC saying rumour Amber rudd in trouble…best bit of news for May so far 😉

+-20 seats is a disaster for the Maybot, Hubris strikes again.

is there a list anywhere of ‘approximate’ times that each constituency declares?

I wonder if Lib Dem voters are voting more tactically this time?
Perhaps even a grand exercise in mass anti tory voting ?

Damn I was going to go to bed but this is interesting.

Looking at the detailed predictions, Labour + SNP + LibDems have exactly the same number of seats between them as the Tories. Now whilst at least one of those parties has definitively ruled out a coalition, if that is the case then the Tories certainly can’t govern. If that is the case then Theresa certainly won’t last the weekend one way or another.

“Tell me Prime Minister, what was it about the 20% lead in the polls you first found attractive”

Bwahahahaah! If nothing else, we might perhaps get a say on any final Brexit deal.

Everyone rules out a coalition before the polls close, the only ones that will def not happen are con/snp or con/lib dem.

What we will have regardless is a strong opposition, which is brilliant

Don’t forget the Tories pretty much get 9 or 10 Irish votes (MPs) too so they don’t need an official majority to have a workable govt.
