Ok, so I’m going to attempt to bodge my first wheel and I’m trying to calculate the spoke length required. I’ve had a look at the DT online calc tool, which is great, but I can’t select non DT hubs from the drop down menu. I can understand this, given that it’s DT’s website, but you can select other manufacturers rims so I’m a bit confused. Do I need to register before I can use the tool properly? FYI it’s a PRO 2 front hub on Mavic XC717 Disc.

Can’t you just measure the hubs and put that data in?

they used to have other manufacturers hubs on there but took them off.

if you’re going to buy from crc (who are pretty cheap for spokes) then email them the hub and rim details and they’ll advise what you need.

Failing that, measure the hub or google the hub – other calculaters are availabel that have the dimensions for most popular hubs.

punch an ERD of 538.5 in to here:

and select the hub from the available ones.

The info that came with your hub should give all the dimensions – if not got to manufacturers website for details
