Got a Hilo and the remote has never been easy to use IMO, plus I fancied ditching the extra stuff and going back to basics. So far, I’m not missing it and treating my post more like a standard post – dropping it for descents and keeping it up for everything else. It feels like the best of both worlds and has made the bike lighter and neater looking.

Upgrade to a 10 speed drivetrain. Then set your derailleur limit screws so that you can only use 7 of the gears. Same thing! Why?

I get a lot from my post but really want a remote for it. I find myself still having the post in the wrong spot through not wanting to take my hand off the bars at some points.
