  • Different types of lock rings for centre lock disk rotors confused?

Bought a new CX / road wheelset..
Tubeless tyres went up the easiest I’ve ever tried.
Just went to put on the brand new centre lock rotors and I can’t do up the lock ring. The tool doesn’t fit over the hub to tighten the ring. There’s no tooling marks on the outside of the ring to tighten it.. Do I need a different tool or a different lock ring?

    Different lockring and tool

It uses a cassette tool on the inside of the lockring.
The BB tool type ones are used on MTB because the hole needs to be bigger for 15/20mm axles.

Oh ffs.. Never had centre lock rotors before hence the confusion.

It’s quick release though and on the rear wheel..

If it’s rear QR, then old lockring tools sometimes weren’t deep enough to fit over the axle.
Any new one should be fine.

Is it a QR on the front too?

Yep.. front went on fine with the cassette lock ring tool as it fits over. Just the rear to do and i could have popped them on the bike and ridden them tomorrow…

LBS can no doubt tighten it for you?
