We are getting married at a Town Hall so it’s just the legal stuff really but they’ve said that we can play a song for me to enter to, one while we are signing the register and one as we are all leaving/while photos are done. I can’t really see the point but think it may be a bit quiet? I’ve seen on wedding forums most people seem to go for classical music but that’s not really my thing but ‘pop’ music might be a bit tacky? Thoughts?

First two for real, third for fun (and note, it’s the literal video version, not the original)!

Not sure the first two are pop, but both my wife and I love the sentiments expressed in both.

Best wishes regardless of music choice!

Grum: No. It’s actually worse than the Rebecca Black video 😯

    Yeti: perfect 🙂

Markie: Very funny, I think I prefer that version. James Blunt is a dick 😀

You know that horrible feeling when you feel embarrassed for someone else…

If that’s real that bloke has pretty much just surrendered himself to a lifetime of servitude.

Congratulations 🙂 I agree pop might be tacky, classical meaningless on the basis you don’t really like it. I agree Tsy has the answer.

    Yep, seriously.

I’m digging through my CD’s trying to find the song she wanted for first dance, was hilarious, but it escapes me right now. Maybe it’s on one of the albums she got.

    A serious answer… 🙂

I wrote most of the music for our wedding. Had a guitar solo version of ‘Here comes the bride’, loads of ambient dancey tunes for the meal. Oh and we left the ceremony to ‘Born to be Wild’!

My friend said her friend had ‘Beauty and the Beast’ played on the way out. Don’t think I’d be allowed that one though…

Thinking about acoustic or live typey versions of romantic songs…. maybe bryan adams or rod stewart. I dunno, this wedding malarky is well complicated 🙄

Edit: lol Yeti I meant your not serious someone wanted to marry you? 😉

I made up a selection of classical stuff for before the ceremony while the guests were waiting then my mrs came in to Purple Rain 8)

    Only joking. Honest 🙂

    BoardinBob: PurpleRain thumbs up!

My other problem is that the room isn’t that big so the chances are the song wont even have started up by the time I get to him.

Jaws theme tune is not an option thank you very much.

Me and Mr AdamW didn’t have music for our CP. It didn’t take that long TBH, though we had it done at the registry office so it was a bit like a process of getting things done. We saw the last bride and groom leaving then we were in with our 13 guests!

Still had a fantastic day though, made better by the fact that we only invited close friends and absolutely no family. One side (mine) was too lazy to come over from Wales and Mr AdamW’s family are complete right wing nutters who only just about tolerate me being with their son, so sod ’em. 😆

Families are great aren’t they. We aren’t really having any there either (apart from mums & Stepdads and brothers/sisters etc). If we haven’t spoken to them in the last 6 months they aren’t coming, my father included in that.

Perhaps we don’t need to bother with music then as I walk in and just have a couple of tracks for after so it’s not to quiet when we sign the register and have some photos taken in the room although that will probably only be 10 minutes. One less thing to stress about then!

We did have music. My other half being a Kiwi we had 2 tracks from ENZSO, an album of orchestral versions of Split Enz songs. So pop with a classical twist.

I threatened my mum that I’d have this playing in the background if I ever walked up the isle. Her reply was unrepeatable LOL.

This was played by my uncle at my aunts funeral, I promised him I’d play it if ever I get married, there won’t be a dry eye in the house.

nice to to check whether anyone’s paying attention (good ol’ crass and their pranks)

Young Marrieds by Andy Partridge (doesn’t seem to exist on the internet – i thought everything was on here! – from disc 2 of Fuzzy Warbles) if you really want ruin the mood (and who wouldn’t on a special day?)

Surely the accepted way though is no music at the thingy, but then put a few quid in the juke box at the working men’s club to soundtrack the traditional reception brawl?
