No, two wrongs don’t make a right. It makes two wrongs. But also reflect that if he wasn’t already lying (sorry, making misleading statements) about what he knew then it wouldn’t have taken a retired detective to disclose what he knew to be fact in the first place. So once again we have the ‘allegations’ of looking at porn, which he still denies, and also the lying. And the case of harassment of a researcher (that he also denies, spot a theme here?) where the investigation has said that they find her testimony pretty believable.
Whether it’s political or not – maybe, maybe it’s just someone who’s concerned that he is continuing to deny sexually harassing a researcher when there’s a building body of evidence against him. So while two wrongs don’t make a right, let me also suggest that ‘what goes around comes around’. People are being called to answer for their past behaviour – something a few others might care to reflect on.
