I remember when I got my first suspension fork (Marzocchi Z2) preload adjustment, or setting the sag, was done by turning a dial on the top of one the legs. Or was it both? Anyway, simplicity itself, just like the fork on my motorbike. Fast forward twenty odd years and I’ve now got a Lyrik. While stiffness and everything else is amazing, if I want to change the most basic of all the settings I’ve got to shell out for a new spring! While I’m sure Mr. Marquez and his buddies have a different spring for every eventuality, the rest of us have to cope with the one that came with the bike. And even then there’s no fine adjustment between the springs. Or is it just a case of bunging a washer On top of the spring? Why oh why? Also, why is the predictive text on here such an arse?

Back then Marz forks had different weight of springs.

Air is the answer though, no need to even open the fork up 🙂

Air is only any good if you’ve never used a coil though!
