  • Chris King crown race gone 'slack'…?

    Now I know this shouldn’t be possible, but the crown race for a Chris King headset appears to no longer fit without play onto the crown race seat…

    I’ve tried it on two pairs of rigid steel forks and it can move around, resulting in play in the headset.

    Tried the crown race from another headset on the same forks = fine.

    Two questions:

    1. WTF?
    2. Now running the CK headset with a different crown race (which has a different contact angle…): will this result in dead headset/knackered headtube/dental work/etc.?
