I'm looking for a cheap 29er. It'll probably be run 1×9, with a light set of tires on it. I'm happy with rigid forks and it might get left outside the gym or pub.

Any suggestions?!

Ridgeback do a couple of entry level 29ers.

All depends what you class as 'cheap'. I got a Rockhopper 29er for £750 which i love and is very good value for money.

Failing that get a cheap frame from on-one or off the classifieds and then just build one up as a bit of a project.

Haro Mary for about £450 which is singlespeed but has a gear hanger so you could rig up your 1×9 which a few extra bits.
