Can someone give me a quick summary on how fuel/pit strategy works? Do they have tiny fuel tanks or something?

70litres and 230mph average speed, so gonna get through it quickly!

They’ve got 70ltr tanks so smaller than F1s 100ltr but they’re pretty much full throttle for the whole race.

I quiet like the way after a smash it’s Billy-Bob who turns up in his pick up to help out.

To me it looks like it may be top 3 for Alonso. Seems like they were cruising at the start, but the wick has been turned up now and experience will count.

Never watched a whole Indy before, really enjoyed that – gutted for Alonso, but a belting race. 🙂

I reckon Alonso has been a huge success for Indycar in any case – would any of you lot have cared about the result if he hadn’t had a go (personally I think this it the first time I’ve been aware of the winner immediately after it happened, I only discovered who last year’s winner was a few weeks ago!)

Absolutely – I haven’t had an interest since Emerson Fittipaldi resurrected his career in Indycars, quite shocked how many former winners they mentioned I’ve never heard of.

The last time I was bothered about Indy was when Jim Clark won.
