I’ve got a nice pair of Morvelo shorts that following a recent tumble (thank you Mrs “I didn’t see you” Micra driver) have a hole in them. Seems a shame to bin £80 worth of shorts.

Has anyone had a successful repair carried out at reasonable cost?

If there is a bit missing find some black lycra and stitch it in. If just a split stitch it up. Its only lycra not the crown jewels.

I’ve got a pair of Assos F.I.13s I trashed in a crash – stitched up, now just wear them under tights in winter. Nice to have a really comfy pair of shorts that I don’t care if I rip for MTB rides!

Just sit down, take your time and patiently gather all the edges of the tear together with lots of small stitches. My longs have been stitched all over the knees for years and are still going strong. The lycra accommodates the takeup of material pretty well.

Globalti, you sound like you are a lot better with a needle and thread than me; if I send them to you will you work your magic and post them back?!
