started at 22stone 4lbs, got weighed today, 21stone dead.

just stopped being a greedy sod.. 😆

    typical day now
    mueseli for breakfast
    fruit mid morning
    salad/meat sandwhich at lunch
    fruit mid afternoon
normal evening meal, meat and 3/4 veg, loads less potatoes/bread/pasta.

some mornings beans and poached eggs on toast, and a salad box at dinner istead of sandwhich.

think the main culprit was lots carbs with every meal.

also started lifting weights again every other day, which is nice too.

I really need to shed some weight after a 3 weeks all inclusive honeymoon, I came home having put on nearly a stone!! Got my monies worth though I guess. First ride out and it was like I had never ridden before in my life, I can't believe the difference 3 weeks can make and how much harder things are when you are carrying some extra baggage.

    Tons diet:

Breakfast: 3 double expresso's, 3 marlboro lights. One Rock star sized line of coke
Lunch: More coke, more coffee, more malboro lights, Red Bull
Tea: Salad. More coke. Vodka tonic (x 10)

Yep my downfall as well, when I realised this my weight dropped and is now fairly consistent.

serious question to someone who may know……
why do you crave carbs and starchy stuff when you change your eating habits??

    TheSwede

Lack of serotonin produced by high carb / sugar diet, also increased insulin levels so when cut down you simply crave them more, like a drug because that's what your body produces when on them. A drug.

Well done Ton, am up to 15lbs lost in 6 weeks myself on primal diet.

got a target weight of 18stone, which is what i weighed on my wedding day 20yrs ago.
set myself 1 year to do it.
one reason is cos i had a knee op 2 years ago. the surgeon told me i would need a knee replacemant before i was 50 if i did not lose some weight.
about 6 week ago the knee gave way, but today my knee no longer hurts, so that is a good thing. 8)

Our friend recently had a premature baby thanks to a massive fibroid. It then shut off her stomach function and she lost two stone in 12 days. A bit dramatic but it worked pretty well 😉

I spent two years desperately trying to GAIN weight – almost three stone in the end (9.25 to 12.25 stone, same bodyfat %age) – it was a hard slog though.

    Ton:

I think you're spot on there. I had a go at the Dukan diet* and lost 7lbs in a week a fortnight ago, I've now 'adjusted' the diet to suit my needs but the main thing I learnt is that cutting back on the carbs is the key.
I've kept the weight off and I'm eating normally/sensibly without the pasta, bread and potatoes in anything like the quantities I used to. Will have another 'push' in the next week, could do with another stone off to get up them there hills a bit quicker.

*I'm not normally a 'dieter' but I'd read a couple of articles about this diet and for £6 off amazon it was worth a look at the book. Its got a great tagline btw: '5 million French can't be wrong'. Errr, excuse-moi, monsieur…
