Look, I'm a Lance fan, Livestrong band wearer, etc, etc, but…… he'll no beat AC!

Its certainly looking depressing – AC's an awesome climber barring plague or pestilence looks like he'll get it. And Wiggings could jump Lance as well, even says the next few days racing are more his style?!! Wiggins as world class climber – shocker!

Not only that he can't climb like Wiggins, he (Armstrong) didn't have any kick at all, Kloden could of dropped him at any time, they are going to have to let Kloden go up the road or he'll miss out on a high GC standing riding with Lance. I was supprised that Evans didn't at least try something today, he does'nt have much to loose and that climb suited his riding style.

Any changes of opinion after that little display from Contador

Nope, I think my original prediction was about right!

Yes my opinion has changed – before I thought Contador would probably win, but Armstrong stood a chance. After today, I'm not convinced Armstrong will manage 2nd. I stand by my previous comments though.

you sound pretty young with your racy name n'all you can probably recall GCSE physics

Thanks for the complement, but I didn't actually do GCSE physics!

I wasn't – I'll give him the credit of trying on occasion, but he's never actually had the legs. Though to his credit he did finish in front of Lance today!

I wish Lance was better myself, I'd love to see him doing his looks/sprints and making contador really work for his win. But he is 37 and I really don't think he's got what it takes any more, not mentally, but physically. Hope Wiggins gets some confidence and starts putting the pressure on though.

It's all brilliant though. Last year simply wasn't interesting at all but I've made a real effort to watch every stage this year because it's proper edge of the seat stuff.

biggest disappointment is Evans.. I know he's in a shit team( why does he stay with them?) I kinda have a soft spot for him as a ex mtber. But he continous to perform rubbish!!

    soft spot = peat bog?

evans is grumpy about everything and he's got a short neck

I wouldn't quite go that far. If you consider the idea that Contador hasn't already won it today though (he certainly appears to be that modest) then strangely Wiggins does appear to be one of it not the most likely challenger.

Superb stage, edge of your seat racing…

I have been blown away by Lances performance to this point, seven times tour winner, four years off and his is still competing with the best the world has to offer, remarkable. AC was always going to win, and lets face it, he is a class apart from the field, I'd love to have seen 27 year old lance against Contador.

We should take a step back and appreciate the performance Armstrong is putting in, he has put his reputation on the line and put aside retiring at the top, to ride for what? himself no doubt, but also his charity. Hats off to the man.

Thank the powers for a decent stage! I think LA has done superbly well – as has been said after four years off and 3 years shy of his 40th he is doing superbly well. To a total competitor like himself he'll probably be disappointed but out here in teh real world he is doing fantastically. What is really gratifying about this year's tdf is that there have been no big drugs scandals – maybe the biggest Lance effect has been the knowledge that the testing was always going to go into overdrive with him around – the French cycling authorities and press have never seemed to like or trust him.

What I'm really looking forward to is next year: Wiggins now knows he can compete and will probably "train his arse off" with GC as number one priority and Andy Schleck is coming on in leaps and bounds. Acers!

Lance and les boys have been tested 'again' this from twitter 19mins ago

'lancearmstrongGood morning. Antidoping control to wake up to. Alberto, Andreas, and myself.'

I'm out of count as to how many times he's been tested – I think this makes at least five times!

It was a great stage yesterday (thank goodness).

Contador was in a league of his own

Wiggo was awesome. He may make the podium though will be close

LA was not where he needed to be physically. Though staggering performance given the circumstances. Thought he was pretty magnanimous in his post stage interviews

Think the TT at Anncey will be the next key stage. Lets Hope BW puts some time on his key podium rivals!
