I think Getriebe is used more for gearbox – could be wrong though.
Rad is wheel, so I am pretty sure that Räder from your translation is the plural of wheels, not gears….slowoldmanSubscriber
Not a translation, but puts me in mind of my dad’s story of when he was taken prisoner in Greece in WWII.
