  • Aligning Shimano SLX brakes with horizontal dropouts

    Hello all,

I have recently converted my Kinesis Virsa to singlespeed and am using the horizontal dropouts. As a result the brake caliper is pretty badly aligned as teh wheel naturally sits further back with the chain at proper tension. I can’t align it properly using washers as the angle needs to change and washers will only move it up and down. If I had some angled washers I can see how I might be able to align it properly but it seems like a bit of a naff solution. An adjustable bracket would be much better. Is there a normal way to solve this problem? Kinesis obviously recognised this as an issue as the new version of the frame has slotted mounting holes!
