    If it is only going on a windows machine then they will all be fine. Some come with their own backup software and some don't.

    What size and how much you paying? As this seems like quite the deal.

    £55 for 1TB.

    Depends where you want to plug it. USB into a single PC, network into a router so it you have a home network you can all see it all the time.

    Basically it's just for temporary backups, offline storage of photos and stuff, not streaming or anything fancy. Got a machine in front of me with data needing saving while I do a reformat, but too much for DVD drives or pen drives, so I thought I might as well jump in and get the drive. Can pick up that Hitcahi 1TB locally for a fiver more if I walk in this afternoon, so I reckon that's what I'll be doing. Ta for the replies.
