needs to be flat, not riser. Okay I’ll take a 10mm rise but that’s the limit…

can’t see a MT Zoom wide enough.

SS/Ragley/Exotic are cheap and Enve/Syntace are pricey. Mmmm.

This.. I have one and they are superbly made would happily hold it up against any other bar on the market, lifetime warranty with no weight or riding style/racing restrictions means that they stand by their product.. And as said, they do an unusual 12 degree bend that’s very comfy..

    This.
Most risers seem to be approx 8 and 4 (back and up) so 12 degree total.
But most of the flat bars (apart from the Syntace) are 8 or 9 degree which is fine with narrower widths but don’t half make my wrists hurt when they are 740mm+.

3t extendos? They’re 12deg back and zero up, so similar effect. I just so happen to have a set of the spendy stealth ones for sale at £40 posted if you’re interested. 😉

I got on well with them but they’ve got a bit too much sweep for my current (short) frame.

You need more angle the wider the bars are.

    I went from 711mm 5 up/9 back to 750mm 3 up/5 back – much more comfy

okay we’ll up the deg then to 12 (flat). I only quoted 9deg because my current flats on the 29er are 9deg but they admittedly are narrower (720).

Just spotted the Salsa Salt Flat carbon which is 11deg and 750mm, for £90. Just a shame the Syntace Vectors are so pricey, as those are the ones I like.

How can a bar be impressive?

Most risers seem to be approx 8 and 4 (back and up) so 12 degree total.

A while since I studied geometry but I don’t think it works like this.

I think it’s pretty obvious that as you rotate the bar backwards in the stem, towards the rider, you’ll increase the backsweep but it’s not clear to me that you simply add the two numbers together.
