had these brakes a while on an xc bike.

now using them on steeper, more stop starty stuff, and they just seem a bit lack lustre…

the levers come back to about 2 inches from the bar an cant get them further (so dont seem to need bleeding), but they seem to be really difficult to get the wheels to lock and skid.

whereas my mates maguras seem to be more stop start and dead easy to lock.

both are 160mm rotors btw and i am not heavy…

pads and rotors are clean and have plenty of life,

so the question is, is this a feature, ie are they supposed to just slow you down and are diffcult to lock, or will a proper bleed, pad change etc sort it, and make the braking more fierce?

    Glazed pads?

Mine (earlier models tho but basically the same brake) lock either wheel with one finger. something wrong with yours. Glazed pads is my guess or cheap pads?

Fault I would say. I have these as well and can lock the back no problem.

I've always struggled to lock my front, whereas my mate can lock his fine.

Try scuffing the pads and rotor with 180 grit wet or dry paper, may help.

I run mini "Pink" 160 rotors on both bikes and i can easily lock both wheels on steep techy stuff… Tueday night for example, a proper steep rocky techy decent, in the wet and still pulled a track stand while a couple of fellas negotiated a ateep switch back.

Also have no probs locking both wheels….. 8)
