will it work? my girlfriend ‘needs’ new cranks because the ones she has are the wrong colour..

it has a 9 speed xt/slx groupset, and she likes the look of the new xt 10sp cranks, the black ones.

will i need to change the front mech too, and/or run a 10sp chain?
the 10sp cranks seem to be cheaper than 9sp as well. would be a good move when she inevitably upgrades to 10sp later when everyhing else wears out/gets broken.

it’s a camber with a bolt on front mech it that makes any difference.

Tell her the black XT cranks will look scruffy in no time and she doesn’t want them!

Being more useful… I used an XT 10 speed crankset with 9 speed gears for a couple of weeks and everything worked fine.

According the forums, it might be a little trickier to get the front mech and everything dialled in, but certainly not impossible.
