    Hi

To all those that rode the 10 under the Ben at the weekend, how similar was the course to the official loop at the Nevis Range?

Its sounds like the course was pretty good to ride.

Excellent – not far off the marked course largely but a few sections were much improved through the woods and the race was much more interesting for it ! thought course was best yet – last years being gash and the year befores being second best 🙂

Anyone have any idea if those new sections will become part of the offial waymarked trail?

unlikely – they were very natural and well chewed by the end of the day.

I doubt it they weren't exactly "sustainable" but if you go up in the near future they won't be hard to find – big muddy gashes through the forest!

Unless they've changed the waymarking recently there's some pronounced differences between the waymarked course and the one used for the event, even before you take into account the "natural" bits that get added in.

The biggest difference is that the event course takes in two large chunks of the World Champs XC course's main descent, instead of contouring for longer and then chucking you down Nessie, which is what the waymarked course does, IIRC.
