In zwift, the need to change the ‘save + exit’ to add the option of ‘save + continue’ is the most voted for feature and it has also been running for over two years. Yet the zwift developers don’t seem to be listening and instead seem more interested in adding life to an already well established virtual environment.
Despite now charging more for the product, there doesn’t seem to have been an attempt to provide a solution to this non-feature. To add your vote go to:
why would you need to save if you're not stopping ?
Nah, bad idea. Its a video game, but please lets not incorporate some of the crappier elements on video games in it.
Eg: boost for one hour, max effort, and then pause for an hour- and then continue?
You'll be wanting 3 lives next.
“Yet the zwift developers don’t seem to be listening and instead seem more interested in adding life to an already well established virtual environment.”
can you explain what you mean by this? What’s “adding life”?
It never occurred to me that I'd ever want to "save and continue". Now the option to opt out of the annoying "CLOSE THE GAP" message, well..
It'd be useful to be able to save and go back to the rides menu so you could select a different route or workout rather than having to restart the app. I suppose this is where i find out you can already do this and I'm just being thick 🙈
Ravey, that’s what I was referring to. If you finish an event/workout you only get the option to save and exit, but there are often cases where you want to go and do some other thing and want to remain in zwift. However ‘exit’ means quit the app, then log back in, re-pair etc. It’s not a deal-breaker, but just frustrating in this particular app.
An update on this: the option to return to the menu after a ride/event etc is now showing as ‘planned’ according to the Zwift forum thread. No mention of which release though.
I had a weird bug the other day, did one lap of Volcano Flat before "save and exit." Except the ride didn't get uploaded to Strava. I had to manually upload the fit file from the Zwift activities folder in My Documents.
Square, triangle, up, left, RB, LB, X then circle 👍
Was just taking a quick peek at this week's STW leaderboard and noticed James OneCog was topping the elevation gain with a sterling effort of ~19,400 feet so far this week.
Had a quick look at what rides he had done and saw https://www.strava.com/activities/1487493393 giving 18,128 feet for what 28.95 miles of "Figure 8 Hilly Lap,"
Zwift reporting highly inflated elevation figures to Strava? 18k feet is the equivalent of ~5 back-to-back climbs up Alpe Du Zwift!
Is this a thing? I've never once wanted to remain in Zwift once I finish a ride, save and exit is perfect. What would you want to do? Can't you do it before you exit? I just consider it the final action; you are exiting, do you wish to save, or discard. It's not a "mid game save".
