Further to the thread from before Christmas about my then new zoom lens, I found out that it takes much better pictures in good light 🙂 Here are a few from our recent round the world adventure voyage.
A lovely Red Panda we saw in Bhutan:

I'm most pleased with this one, an Inca Tern I snapped in Chile. Those things move pretty quickly, but I managed to get it correctly exposed and in focus 🙂

Oh and I've post-processed some of these pics for the first time, so let me know well I did. If you are an expert perhaps you can spot what I did.
(Please note that some of this post is factually inaccurate)
Nobody interested in my pics?
I guess not.
I'm interested in your post-processing. What did you do?
The first two are just sharpened, but the last one whilst taken against the sky had netting all across the shot in the background. Rather than edit out the netting I cut out the bird and pasted it into a blank sky shot I'd got whilst trying to snap a different bird. I had to try a few times to make it look reasonable, plus I had to adjust the hue and brightness of the sky to sort of match the original, otherwise the lighting didn't look natural.
Here's the original pic:

I like your pix. Love the inca turn.

TBH, now you've said that it's pretty obvious... 😕
Jeez, you get about a bit don't you!
Yes, PP, but you didn't notice until I said that, so it's some small success.. not bad for my first ever attempt!
Prize for anyone that identifies where the pics were actually taken 🙂
[s]Loch an Duin[/s] Bristol Zoo
Oh, now I need to think of a prize.
I'll take your new lens if its micro 4/3's 😉
It's not, too bad 🙂
damn should have checked the flickr info first !
Nice. Now take a picture of the moon.

all taken with a cheapy (£100) 200-400mm sigma lens. You can see the chromatic distortion a bit on the zebras. Also works best when there is a lot of light (f5.6 throughout)
