There is a webcam that overlooks the ferry crossing in dawson city, you can find it on windy.com

Most important thing – have they heard of Putoline over there?

Careful - they might think TJ covers his chain with cheesy chips & gravy.

I think its only fair that you tell us. 1. How many times you fell over skiing, and 2. off the side of the sled...

Looks amazing, what an experience, very jealous

3 times on my arse in 100 m on the skis downhill.  I was ok on the fkat.  Sled went over once.  Fell a few times in the deep powder with the snoeshoes.  Very difficult to get up again after that especially as my mate was layghing so much😜🙄

Today was a tour of some historic buildings around Dawson. Then a drive up the dome. A hilltop viewpoint above dawson

Is that the bar with the sour toe?

Have you been to the bar with the dirt floor?

That view from the Dime is a great one. Is the moosehide slide visible this time of year. It’s a landslide that looks like a moose hide. I’d imagined it was about 40 years old, then saw it in pictures from the gold rush days. It stuck in my mind.

Are the tailings visible by the road on the way into town. Basically a post industrial eyesore, but interesting.

Hiya

Yesterday we drove a couple of hours north to Tombstone national park for some snowshoeing and skiing.   Scenery to die for.  We were hoping to drive up to Tuk on the north coast but the road has been closed.  Maybe next week

Dring at 50 to 60 mph on snow covered roads makes me twitch.  At these temperatures the packed snow is astonishingly grippy even without studded tyres.

Been helping my pal with a fair bit of snow clearing as well in preparation for the melt which is coming soon as daytime temps are reaching zero now

Hoping to go to a trappers camp this week and camp there.  Brrrrrrrrrr

Next week to drive up north

I survived the lipsync night which was quite a big event and our troupe came 3rd of 15 acts.  I also survived the open mike night where i sang in public for the first time ever and didn't embarrass myself.

Made it to Inuvik in the arctic but failed to get to Tuk as we got whiteout with drifting snow on the road so drove the ice road on the frozen MacKenzie river to Aklavik instead.

Ah amazing - very envious! We only made it to Inuvik as it was summer. Inuvik was perfectly functional but we wish we'd got further north.
How much other traffic did you see? Did you stop in Eagle Plains on the way, or do it in a one-r? And presumably the ferry crossings en route are now just continuations of the ice road drive?

A vehicle an hour on the road maybe.   We did stop in eagle plains.  The Dempster is a gravel road now as is theTuk road but the ferries are replaced by ice bridges in winter.

Everyone has cracked windscreens from the gravel roads

Shine a light.  The road south is closed with drifting snow.   We might be stuck in Inuvik

There's worse places to be stuck along that road!
For a while I worked with a guy whose brother flew bush aircraft in that area, and they'd land on the Dempster in emergencies. Although not if the visibility was bad enough to stop driving up it I suppose...

Fantastic

That crack in the windscreen needs sorting.

they come like that. Or at least everyone’s windscreen is cracked. As well as the gravel roads gravel is used on the roads when it snows as it too cold for salt to do anything.

Namtahala hot springs if you get the chance awesome

It's hot water pouring over a waterfall into tidal rock pools, amazing place. You get picked up from Tofino wharf by water taxi aka tinny with twin 400hp outboards
