I'm a bit of a Desert Island Disks fan, I do like a listen.

Stand out interviews for me include Alfred Wainwright ‘The mountains wept tears for me that day’ and Tom Hanks who was just wonderful.

Who was your most memorable castaway?

Ian Wright was good.

Not heard the Tom Hanks one yet so I'm going to downoad that one.

The best for me, without a doubt were Professor Sue Black and David Nott, both incredible people.

Beaten to it by IHN with Ian Wright. Floods of tears. You then have to find the YouTube clip with Mr Pigden

Of course Harry, how could I forget? Winkle Brown is my all time hero. They really need to make a film about his life.

I'm no fan of his work but Noel Gallagher was fantastic on it.

So many over the years.

Ian Wright and Stephen Graham have been recent highlights.

Good point, I just wanted to make it more relevant to a bike forum

That type of brake commonly found in mountain bikes is also usually spelt with a c.

Well you did it your way (one of my least favourite DIDs as it goes. That's Life on the other hand...)

I'm more of a "Private Passions" fan.

Ian Wright, Wendell Pierce, Nile Rogers, Pam Ayres and Jacqueline De Rojas are a few I recall as very insightful.

I'm following this to get some ideas which episodes to work back through - it's not something I remember to listen to very often, but the Ian Wright one, following on from comments on here, had me in tears, and I would never would have expected that from him, which is the mark of a great programme.

Nigel Owens. Very moving and not at all what I was expecting.

I'm going to listen to Tom Hanks and Ian Wright now. Good thread.

Ian Wrights was life-affirming stuff, just to hear the love and respect he had for his old teacher

Tom Jones was an absolute corker too. What a life he’s had

Oh, and Bob Mortimer. Him and LaLa are obviously good mates and were having a right laugh all the way through it

I bloody love desert island discs! I’m going to give all these a listen

As above, Ian Wright was very special, not being a football fan I didn't know much about him but glad I listened to it.
Plus Springsteen, cos I'm a fan.

Professor David Nott is my favourite. His book is excellent too.

Also really enjoyed Stephen Graham, Nigel Owens and Gary Barlow oddly.
