Came across this Bentley parked at a local beauty spot, a large rock had been moved for them to reverse on to sodden grass causing quite a bit of damage to the grass . Was pretty annoying to see!

From the car and the parking it's likely to be one of our ruling elite reminding us that we are all in this together.

Detail the car and move on, humbled to be of some small service.

That's the most off-road action that 4*4 will ever see!

I'd of repositioned the rocks back in front of the bumper.

Well the obvious not damaging thing so do is smear that mud all over the windows...

Perhaps spelling a message of your displeasure.

Looks like that parking spot is well used not just one off damage. Hope you’d have posted up if it was a Suzuki jimny Parker there.

Send that photo to Bentley for their marketing.

I too would’ve taken a photo, but not to bitch about it. It looks like the stone was moved long before the Bentley got there.

Owning that particular car* most likely marks the owner out as a bit of a knob.

However, if they want to drive into the countryside and park in a well used spot to walk the dog I don't see any problem with that.

If you're so worried about a wee patch of grass, you should see what farmers do to the stuff on an industrial scale every year. It'll blow your petty mind!

*two local to me, both owned by knobs.

I'm always amazed on the amount of money people are willing to spend on butt ugly cars.
It's like some of the 'premiere marque' manufacturers have a competition to see who can design the worst car that people will still buy.

It’s just a car parked on some mud, that was clearly mud before the car was parked there. If it was a Defender, the responses on here would be quite different.

People complain because these things are only ever driven in city centres, then complain when they're parked in the mud. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Agree that if the driver made that mess in one go parking there, they made a terrible job of it, but also agree it's much more likely that they're one of a number of people who use that bit for parking.

Did you see the stone being removed for them to park there, or are you just supposing because you've made a summary judgement based on the car that's there?

In any case, to answer the question in the thread, my answer is nothing at all.

Passive aggressive note under the wiper I think.

Ultimately though, if people are willing to park like ****s and do things liek that, they are unlikely to give a shit about anything you say.

Assume the stone was moved long before and many others have done the same. OTOH, if the owner has picked that rock up and moved it, he's quite a bit bigger than me so he's entitled to park where he likes.

That looks as though a few cars have been parked there I don't think that the Bentley owner had moved the rock TBH. Parking is still a bit shit

Some typically STW judgements on stereotypes 🤣. I know two Bentley owners, both lovely, down to earth, albeit successful, guys.

As others have said, I wouldn't think the Bentley owner moved the rock, it wasn't the first there. Owners of other, less prestigious brands can be idiots too.

I'd have thought "oh look a Bentley " and ridden past

No issues with where he's parked or what they are driving.

As for smearing stuff on the car. If you were to do that I would hope that either you were caught in the act by a police person and charged. Alternatively the owner caught you and beat 7 shades from you.

Totally agree that cars had parked there before!  Parking spot above Tarn Hows, the rock was put back in its original position he/she looked pretty much lodged at the rear! Might make him/her consider their parking choice next time.

I think putting a rock in front of it is a worse thing to do than him parking there (assuming the rock was already moved when he got there which it looks like). The owner might not have the fitness /ability to move it.

I would have just ignored it, as others say, looks well used for cars, the people inside have at least found a place that is in keeping with parking around the area, they are out for a walk or whatever, i would have just went on without thinking about it.

Personally the last picture makes me angrier, someone has taken the time and energy to get offended and then put a massive rock in front of the car, potentially ruining the car occupants day, it's not a good thing.

You'd be in a permanently outraged state if you got wound up by dickhead parking in Lakes hotspots. Every passing space and verge is fair game in the holidays, it seems. Bentley or not, that's a particularly bad example . Unfortunately I think it's a 4x4, so will probably manage to blast itself free of the slop.

Get the **** out of there in case the owners come back from disposing of a body and think I’ve see something I shouldn’t

Dispose of a body at Tarn Hows? There are so many dogs off the lead that it would be found within minutes. 🙂

This seems like a bit of an odd thread all round. It’s a terrible place to park, but that would be the case whatever the car. Putting the rock there is a bit of a **** move imo.

I'd clock the 'make america great again' personalised plate, think '****' and wonder why they'd chosen a European brand car.

What they should do is park on the road and block emergency services being able to get past, of course.

This. Do those saying "Well, other people have parked there" not think that the rocks were originally put there to stop entitled ****s in the their cars churning the grass up??
Just lately I've noticed ****s in cars parking in spots all over the south downs - ON the SDW and on bridleways, one (a Skoda) was parked on the entrance to a BOAT that's a blind turning off the road. Completely ****ing blocking the entrance. Pisses me off.
But yeah other people do it so it's fine.

I don't think anyone has said "others have done it so its ok". Quite a lot of us have said that others have done it and it's not just a Bentley thing.

Deciding not to get wound up by other people's **** behaviour is often the only coping method we have left!

Exactly. The answer is to put the stone back when the space is empty maybe a bigger one.

I think it’s an uglier side of our society that people automatically assume people with money are bigger dicks than the rest of us.

Hard to comment without seeing the whole layout but if they hadn’t parked there, somebody else would have - looks well used.

It probably is insensitive parking, hard to tell for sure, but whoever rolled the rock back has a huge chip on their shoulder.

Exactly this.

Parking in a space clearly used by others but also pretty obviously not meant for parking is ignorant. Specifically going out of your way to block them in (or put shit on the handles, mud on the window, etc) marks you out as an utter c**t.

I don’t think you would have done anything of it was a knackered old Ford. You just have an issue with it being a very expensive car.

This too. Plenty of it on here, see any number of threads. Ugly attitudes. Who cares, live and let live.

There might have been poetic justice involved later. A couple in some small BMW parked on the muddy grass below Tarn Hows last week and got stuck. Proper spinning the wheels until dug in stuck. Didn't seem to want any offer to tow them out and seemed more amused than worried about it.

Is this in access to the disabled car park above tarn hows?

Were they displaying a ticket or national trust badge?

You've behaved like a knob moving the rock. Seeing the ruts it looks like plenty of people have parked there before the Bentley driver. What if it's an old dear who can't move the rock?

Was at a Biergarten a few weeks back.

Some Tesla pulled up taking up two spaces. My mates sprung up and and moved their vans to within about 2cm either side of the Tesla. Other guests saw what they were up to and all seemed to approve.

I consider moving the rock back into place a good deed. Just need to now wait for them to return.

I think it’s an uglier side of our society that people automatically assume people with money are bigger dicks than the rest of us.

I'm not sure that is the case here. It's the model of car as much as the cost of it. I have nothing against normal Rollers & Bentleys in general, but that 4x4 thing is inutterably loathsome. Most other heuge cars have something about them, a presence, a top speed or a beauty.

That thing is just a butt ugly ignorant way of showing how much money and how little class you have.

In this case I think it is a perfectly valid assumption to say that the person driving it is a bigger dick than the rest of us.

[Partly tongue in check, but partly I genuinely do think that]

What they should do is park on the road and block emergency services being able to get past, of course.

You only need a Peugeot for that.

(For those who don't know - the Ambulance and MRT were coming down off the hill. The cars had parked after the emergency vehicles went up to deal with casualty, blocking them in.

I believe (and this was only Facebook post) that the Ambulance and MRT transferred a patient. They then waited while police and MRT took a walk along to the falls to find the car owners. They have been prosecuted - it is a public road, it just has a gate as there is no cattle-grid, there is farm and 3x houses up there.
