Almost anything by Johnny Dowd but probably ‘worried mind’ if I had to choose. If I knew how to link or imbed it here I would.

I'm a bit of a gene Clark obsessive but I'd say that 'Polly' by Dillard & Clark is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It's the tempo, everything about it. Listen to it. That'd be my glass of port and sit by the fireplace toon

Also, ''' still in love with you' by thin Lizzy off the love and dangerous album. Awesome and the best guitar solo of all time courtesy of Brian Robertson

Thanks The Purist.  I've not listened to Space Is Only Noise You Can See in ages.  That's going on in a bit.

Someone’s got to balance up all your “oh, I’m cool n trendy/I’ll post some random jingly jangly shit that no-ones heard of” up.

Eh?

Same every music thread.

🤣💩

Let me be the voice of balance if you like ..

Just cos you're not interested in finding music, doesn't mean nobody else is. Posting utter shit as a response to sharing interesting stuff people might not have heard... that's reasonable?

"Jingly jangly". Pathetic

Apparat and FC Kahuna are good choices too (someone recognises DezB's "jingly jangly" stuff).

Sabres Of Paradise - Smokebelch II (beatless mix)

Define

utter shit

Its all music isn’t it?

Just because I don’t like your jingly jangly stuff doesn’t mean I don’t like music. Certainly doesn’t mean I don’t look for stuff either, you don’t really know what I listen too or where I go to find it.

Both those 2 songs are awesome, and fit well into this thread.

Choppersquad - you mean Jeff Buckley's version of Leonard's 'Hallejulah' ......

How about Sandy Denny/Fairport Convention "Who knows where the time goes"

"Dimming of the day" was a good call, a couple of other beautiful Richard Thompson songs - 'Beeswing' and 'How will I ever be simple again"

Too many Leonard Cohen songs to list, but 'If it be your will', Famous blue raincoat' and 'Joan of Arc' will do for starters.

Sorry failedengineer, I didn't mean it was Jeff Buckley's song, just his version of it.

As the OP can I say that everyone is doing a Stella job with this thread and multiple suggestions are more than welcome.

Also, it's open to any song that anyone finds beautiful whether it be totally off the chart or incredibly mainstream, which means Barry Manilow can sit right up there next to Broads.

I'll even take back my Slipknot comment and welcome them (tentatively) into the fold if someone deems them worthy.

As recommended by Pep at the weekend, you'll need the translated lyrics for it to make sense (unless you comprehend Catalan)

How about something from Vashti Bunyan?

Most likely the Lookaftering album, maybe Here Before

Some may describe it as sickly or childlike but I find her voice so soothing.
