Having a hard time finding slip on slippers that go around the foot that can take everyday use for more than a year.
What's good in the slippers world? Are there industrial grade slippers? Should be warm, but not super warm, only let the temps indoors drop to -15C at worst. No leather please. Wool ok.
Currently using acorns, but the soles disintegrate too fast.

My Teva Mocs have just clicked over the year and still going strong. Can be worn without or without heel.
Glerups or Ugg. Glerups do a rubber sole version
Found some more options! @kilo I belive UGG is leather only so no-go, but Glerups is a nice one.

I've had some closed heel Glerups ones for about 4 years and they're still fine. The missus had some open heel ones and she has destroyed them.

Thermoball seems nice and is affordable! Just not a ton of reviews yet so hard to gauge longevity.

I wear sandals as my indoor slippers. Currently sporting some Merrell ones. I find them much warmer than they look and being open toed they tend not to get smelly and need washing...
My previous pair lasted nearly 20 years, although the last few years they needed a lot of glueing as the rubber was disintegrating.
I've had my thermoballs for around 3 years now I think, often get told off for wearing them outside, still going strong.
They've been around for yonks.
@footflaps merrel has some nice options, but unfortunately all use leather afaik.

HOMEYS.CO.UK I love the Just Sheepskin ones. I have mules, but they do enclosed heel as well. Last 18 months+

Not sure about the warmth of TNF Thermoball mules but I've got a set of the older down ones and they're plenty warm enough, these exact ones -
I've had them since 2011ish and they're still going strong. The cover over the inner foot bed is starting to come away under my big toe on one of the them but everything else is fine. The soles still have loads of grip on them and haven't smoothed out, I wear them outside quite a lot when hanging out the washing/sorting the bins/grabbing something from the car and nipping to the facilities when camping. When they get a bit grubby they go through the washing machine.
The sole is also great for getting hair out of the carpet, a quick moonwalk over the spot where my other half dries her hair and it loosens up so the hoover can get it.
I'll definitely be getting another pair when the time comes.
I've had Thermoballs but they don't have stink after a few months use (or maybe that's just my feet).

One word: Haflinger.
I’ve worn Romika corduroy slip on for years, very comfortable and a proper sole.

I had a pair of the Campers, loved them but the sole wore through pretty fast and if you scratch the top its easy for the top to self destruct.
I got some of those felt slippers with optional click-on plastic soles last year, they've now got a hole in the side from where the sole rubs. If you don't wear the sole then they've got a nice neoprene heel to keep them on.
Currently eying up the Gumbies slipper but it doesn't have a closed heel.
I've ordered some slippers for the wife from a French company called Soft & Yoga.
No idea on the durability but they seem well made and strangely featured on the gadget show a few weeks back

I work from home so slippers are important from experience:
UGG- good to begin with and outer last well, they do however stretch and the lining gets compacted. Heavy too.
Mahabis- awful, sent straight back.
Homeys - ok for a month but soon stretch and get tatty, not that warm and didn't last a year.
TNF Thermo all traction- Great so far, nice and warm and close fitting. Look less life you need a pipe to go with them than most if that matters
From what I read and how long these things last, value wise the Thermoballs come out on top here and are most sheep friendly:
North Face Thermoball mules > 4 years (cheap!)
Haflingers Grizzly Buffalo >4 years (bit clunky)
Glerups Rubber Sole >3 years (the most expensive and most loved)
Giesswein Vent ~2 years

I want something that isn't warm at all. Have just worn my Birkenstock sandals but really want something without buckles. Birk felt clogs are too warm. Can't see myself wearing those merrel sandals
The Comfortfusse on Sportpursuit are copy Birkenstocks. Katie just bought some - quality is ok but lower than the real thing. The 'felt' on Birks is real wool - on the Comfortfusse it's a synthetic.
I don't particularly like slippers at all and can't stand walking around in my bear feet or socks. I much prefer wearing shoes all of the time but my wife gets pissed if I wear shoes inside. My solution was to cut the tongues out of a pair of trainers that were not too knackered, give the soles a good clear and don't wear them outside. With the tongues cut out they slip on easily and do not come off either. It's a cheap and robust slipper that offers support indoors. Good way to get more value out of old trainers.
I like a croc myself, comfy, easy to clean, last for bloody years and they piss off the fashion police because anything so inherently practical cannot be cool.
I'm on my second pair of Haflingers after about 4 years in the first pair. I work from home, wear them all year; tiled/laminate floor, no underfloor heating.

I've just crossed over to the dark side but on a budget.
Really wanted to try the fleece lined crocs approach, but couldn't bring myself to part with £25 for the real thing. But then they (well, clones of) appeared in Aldi a few weeks ago for £5 🙂
Since then my feet have been toasty warm and comfy at home, I can nip out in the rain to the garage without absorbing all the standing water and the lining is removable so can go through the washing machine when they get a bit stinky.
I rate my Sanuks - there's a fleece lined option as well. I've had a pair for a few years now and they're still holding up well.
TK Maxx twice a year instead and pocket the change?
Crocs, no lining needed.
I wander around in the snow in the backyard in mine (no socks), and my feet only get cold if there's direct contact with the snow.
Also have the furry crocs, wouldn't have anything else now. Dark side they may be but practical they definitely are.
Vote here for Crocs.
My indoor pair (not that I have an outdoor pair, I'm not a heathen) are coming up to 7 years old and still basically look new.
Warm, comfy, and don't get smelly. I went for the Yukon model as they look slightly less horrible.
Wish I'd seen this thread a week ago.
I had a pairpof fitflop shuvs for years and they were amazing. Now in some Birkenstock super birkis - plastic clogs with a cork footbed - great for gardening/outdoors and seemingly indestructible, but not that snuggly.
Have just tried on and returned (Amazon wardrobe!) some sorrel falcon ridge and a couple of pairs of Haflingers because they didn't feel right. Haflingers were lovely but we're either too big or too small.
Some more Fitflops are in the post, but if I'd seen this I'd have tried the Romikas.
Really like the look of Olukai Moloas but they are £££
OLUKAI.COM I wear a pair of Tom’s classics round the house. They’re not lined so my feet seem to stay nice and fresh but they’re plenty warm enough.
