Looking for something small to put on top of a wooden cabinet in the living room. Something with integral lighting would be good - not keen on fibre optics though. It'd be nice to be able to hang some baubles from it.
Any ideas from you STW types?

buy any tree and a suitably sized dust bin - place cat in bin(don't let the neighbours see you) tree will then be fine 😈

You might be surprised. One of our cats was 3 months old 2 Christmas's ago and he was fine with a full size real tree.

Kitten will be fine. Ours love it when the tree goes up. Just leave some cheap plastic bits hanging off the bottom. But they've never climbed it.
