does anyone have any recommendations for some decent platformer/rpg games on the xb1? Trying to give the kids an option other than the just mindless shooter games that they want to play all the damn time.

Ideally if they've got no guns it would be great (but they don't have to be totally bereft of aggressive play - just where the aim is not to just kill other people/aliens/robots at every opportunity etc?)

We play minecraft together which is great, but need more variation.

Any ideas . . .

(Edit: we have all the lego gmaes)

thanks cougar - didn't think to search for ps4

they're 8 and 11 - and PvZ2 and Star Wars Battlefront are the only shooty type games they have access to but even when playing co-op you can see their attitudes/behavior change (we already limit time on the console - but want to have a wider range of games available for them)

Unravel.

It's "free" if you get EA Access, which you should.

Might be on the edge of their age range, but as we've been talking about it recently, Portal 2?

Not sure about age ranges or Xbox availability but Ratchet and Clank, and Rayman franchises have been favourites with my 10yr+ kids.

Platform style and there is some blasty-blasty, but in good humour and the cooperative multiplayer modes seem to be attractive.

Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time is a free download with Gold just now

Fun co-op shooter (but think shooting fluffy pink aliens rather than terrorists)

I was going to suggest that, but wasn't sure how it'd fare with pre-teen boys. Still, it's free.

A couple of Rayman games have been on GwG too, one just last month.
