Does efficacy factor into QA or are you just looking at the quality of the product, how it's made and it's components? As with most things there will be strong for and against arguments which is why I'm asking people here for their experiences, good and bad.
I am not about to blindly buy a potion off the internet without first doing some fact finding and as I said, no medication is free from side effects be it herbal, synthetic or combination of the two. Someone somewhere will have had a problem. You've only got to looks the the pages of side effects listed in every medication box.
@ Hopeforthebest
How would I know they weren't using alibaba powder?
"Little Green Pharma is leading the Australian medicinal cannabis industry with Australia’s first locally produced product available now for approved patients. We are the only company in Australia with locally-grown products that have passed all the mandatory and rigorous testing required. Our products are natural and pesticide-free."
I'd be willing to trust them. That took all of 5 seconds to Google.
I'd rather try CBD than some of the drugs that are given for pain.
Ones I won't try again, Amitriptyline, Gabapentin, Pregablin and finally Duloxetine - farkin awful drugs. Duloxetine has been the worse so far, and I'm still suffering bad side effects nearly two months after stopping (after trailing off). It helped with my back pain, but side effects were, no appetite - massive weight loss/unable to ride as not eaten, really bad tinnitus (I have it already but it was like turned to 10 and it's still bothering me), nerve twitches, unable to sleep, dizzy and feeling sick, problems 'getting it up', unable to go to the toilet etc etc.). Terrible stuff.
I can't even get a regular prescription for codeine - I'm just allowed etoricoxib, which is a long acting anti-inflamatory, and whilst OK on the stomach, there are some potential 'nasties' lurking with risk or heart attack and stroke being high on the list, given I'm on the highest 'sustainable' dose.
These 'legal' options are quite horrible, so I'm choosing to live in pain (broken spine 3 years ago caused by a 'blind' driver).
(broken spine 3 years ago caused by a ‘blind’ driver).
Horrendous mate, best of luck.
My good lady is an Opthalmic nurse, folk coming in for procedures on their eyes, most of them have shit eyesight even before they get needles stuck into them, you wouldn't believe the amount of them that drive there and back, and staff are powerless, the onus is on the driver to put hands up.
Crazy.
Driver wasn't 'blind' just couldn't be ar$ed to look - turned right across my path, in daylight, despite 3 front lights (2 x Hope 1 and a C&B Seen City Slicker on 'Pulse'. Back is still very painful, but I'm doing my best with stretches and keeping it moving.

Aphex, efficacy is based on two things - clinical trials that demonstrate statistically significant clinical effect - secondly without quality, efficacy that has been demonstrated in clinical trials can be compromised, so that is something we look at. I am on the manufacturing side, GCP QA are involved with the clinical trials side.
If you are going to do this, please see if you can get any kind of paper trail from them, as long as the starting material has been washed pesticides that are designed for food production wouldn't worry me too much for something that is taken orally - ask them about their manufacturing practice instead, do they send off random batch samples to reputable QC labs for analysis - if so can you see the paperwork? Remember that the process used during manufacturing can lead to contamination of a batch.
If I was you, I'd rather just grow weed at home and get high. It sucks that there aren't more reputable options open to you guys, I do think that the market and government regulation is slowly responding to the demand though.
I've seen a fair amount of stupidity in my relatively short time in QA and that is in an industry that is so heavily regulated that the FDA pay us random visits and treat us like criminals or guilty until proven innocent, so I hate to think what goes on without that kind of oversight.
Aphex - derp. You can't buy any of Little Green Pharma's products in the UK because they're too high in THC. It's not the low-THC CBD oil that's been discussed on this thread. Understanding that took all of five seconds too...
hopeforthebest - derp, as previously mentioned, I'm not in the UK, I'm in Australia.

BOOM! ;o)
Another poor night's sleep, an extremely Dry mouth – [s] no, will see[/s] and throat. Woke up around midnight completely unable to swallow.
Waste of money, won't be touching it again.
It usually takes weeks for it to work so I think you’re probably expecting a bit much.
True, however, it tastes vile (smokers might not notice), the 2 times I've used it I've actually slept worse and I can just take a Nytol without any side effects. Why would I keep trying just in case it starts to help (apart from having spent the money on it)?
Why does it taste like an ashtray? Did you pick a manky ashtray flavour?
It takes days/weeks to build up from what I have read, so using it twice and declaring it rubbish isn't exactly conducive to a fair trial.
Aphex - derp derp - you still can't buy any of their products! They're prescription only. And they're still not the CBD oil that's being discussed here - they're too high in THC.
By referring to a prescription-only drug in a heavily regulated market, without realising it, you've actually proved the point being made by others on here: properly manufactured medical products will have a traceable supply chain. The vast majority of CBD oil that's being sold in "health shops" doesn't.

Look you! It tastes like an ashtray, I guess because it's a mixture of cannabis oil and olive oil and together they taste like ashtray!
And! I didn't declare it "rubbish". It was a waste of money for me, because I'm not prepared to go through the downsides I've experienced so far to give it a fair trial.
I'm not saying it won't work for other people or that they won't enjoy the feeling of licking a pub garden table, just giving my experience with it.
OK?!
It usually takes weeks for it to work
Also - from a trained medical professional - wrong, drug doesn't stay in the system, so will be instant or nothing. Ha!
(May not be correct, but ha! anyway)

Chill Winston!
It was just the first one that came up in my Google search bud, never said that was the one I was going for, merely an example. If I need a script, I'll get one. Not sure why you think I can't buy that particular brand, if I wanted it but do appreciate your input.
Anybody know if this will help with sleep? Suffered for years with shit sleep, anxiety etc. Docs have always recommended commercial over the counter stuff but i become immune to it after a while so it stops working.
What sort of strength would be needed?
Read the 2nd post.
There was an interview on the radio t'other day with a doctor who has done proper medical trials in the UK with CBD oil.His verdict...there are benefits with few side effects for anxiety, sleep and arthritis IIRC but the over the counter stuff is too weak compared to the proper stuff they trialled at comparatively high, measured, unadulterated doses. Here's a link to a totally unrelated item 🙂

That's my kind of research
"Another study showed that daily cannabis consumers are twice more likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction."
Anybody know if this will help with sleep?
Try this thread
Rather than start anew thread I thought I’d dredge this one up......
Has anyone tried the CBD oil in the link below and if so what are your thoughts? It gets a very good review on Google but are there better options?
Thanks
Just caught up with this thread, no one seems to have mentioned the modern godfather of cannabis oil, Rick Simpson. His web site is pretty much the oracle on all things relating to cannabis oil in medicinal form.
Incidentally, he’s Canadian and lives in exile due to his practices, I wonder if he is now allowed back?

Try these guys. George Kruis and Dominic Day set the company up. Regualr starters in Saracens scrum, and International players. 6 Nations, World Cup and all that. They seem to know what they are talking about, and with the drug testing they have to go through their stuff should be OK.
I tried CBD oil drops some time ago to help with arthritis pain in my knee (now replaced) . Can't remember the brand or strength, but it was a strong one and I took a bit more than the full dose for about 2 months. Cost a fortune and did nothing for me despite me being desperate for it too work.
Also did nothing for my wrist pain (arthritis and old break) but an annual shot of cortisone in it has worked wonders for 6 months before it starts wearing off. Get it around easter for a easier summers cycling.
Just dont smoke the bloody stuff, had two lads put it in their vape over the last few weeks, fainted straight away and suffered head injuries on the way down. The ramblings from what was going on when they were "out" dont sound like fun.
How's everyone getting on with their Ganga Juice then?
I'd forgotten about this, but my wrist is killing me today so I'm back on it.
Seems to me the sale of CBD oil is a bit shady at the moment as every man and his dog tries to jump on the bandwagon!
Who knew you needed a calculator to work it all out!
Seems that LoveCBD £18 oil is around 1.5%, if everyone is after 10% that seems a bit of a waste of time to me?
Also, like booze I assume if you take twice the dose of 5% stuff you'll get the same effect of taking a dose of 10%?
After much Googling and frankly trying to find some shady high-THC supplier who'll ship to the UK I've rightly or wrongly settled on Celtic Winds from Lloyds pharmacy, because we'll I'm Welsh so "Celtic" sounds good and I suspect Lloyds would be far more wary of being sued / getting bad PR than some quickly knocked up WordPress website without a physical address.
(also, it's currently 50% off) which leads me to another thing, there's discount codes for CBD oil around in a lot of places that leads me to think as the market grows, prices are falling which has to be good news. After all, there's no real practical reason why it should cost more than Sunflower oil to produce (currently £1.30 a litre in my local supermarket for 100%) other than the whole legality issues. There are already massive legal cannabis fields in the UK, it's all high CBD low THC stuff for hemp production (Farmer said you'd need to smoke a joint the size of a telegraph pole to get high apparently)
After all, there’s no real practical reason why it should cost more than Sunflower oil to produce
something tells me you haven't thought that through
something tells me you haven’t thought that through
Possibly, I’ve got a bit of a thick head this morning after watching the Rugby yesterday.
But, forgot the illicit nature of the plant - we already grow Hemp/Canabis in the UK for loads of non-drug reasons. I’ve just discovered that the UK is actually the worlds largest grower of legal Cannabis
There are strains of Cannabis (I’ve read) that produce little or no THC, there’s fields of the stuff in the UK, no special tents or lights, just grow it like any other crop. Okay it might not yield as much oil per tonne as Sunflowers or whatever, but with one crop they can sell litre of the stuff for £1.30 and the other they’re selling 300mg for £30.
That’s a big difference over ‘regulation’.

A friend approaching end stage cancer has been following Simpson and imported some fairly expensive seeds from the Netherlands. Unfortunately, despite much care and attention, they failed to thrive in their greenhouse.
There's a few folk in my Lyme group that use CBD oil, some are paying around £150 per bottle. It's something that I may try as the pain I'm in from Lyme and another condition sometimes reduces me to tears as well and affects my sleep too.
I've not managed to get my arse in gear and get any yet either. Any my wrist still hurts! I've not been back to muay thai for a couple of months. Tried a few sessions on the bag at home and it's still giving me $hit. Even got work to supply a mouse pad with a padded bit for my wrist which helps a little.
Seems to be the inch or so on the outside of my left wrist just above my watch bracelet (and no, it's not too tight!). Will get back to the docs and see what she suggests. Wonder if it's carpal tunnel or something arthritic based?
How does CBD oil help tackle inflammation?
Works on CB1 and CB2 endocannabinoid receptors to reduce pain and inflammation.

Indeed there are. There are many many different strains and hybrids with varying levels of THC and/or CBD depending on what the user desires.
I'll update this, as it was a few months ago now I bought a bottle for my knackered wrist.
I went for a recommended make (Charlottes Web) - took it religiously for a month. Didn't make any difference at all for me. Didn't bother buying another bottle.

Give Lloyds Pharmacy a whirl online, they're selling 5% stuff, 2 weeks supply for £15 with the discount code, it would suspect 2 weeks of that would be enough to give an idea of it's going to work for you or not. They have a click and collect service and they seem to be everywhere. It's all grown in Ireland and made "by pressing the whole plant" so, no dodgy powder stirred into whatever.
My Mrs is a Specialist Nurse, I asked her to read through a recent article on Pinkbike about CBD and she was quite positive about me trying it, adversely she's very cautious of 'non steroidal non-inflammatory drugs' like ibuprofen, the fact I even know what they are gives a good indication about how much she moans about me taking them, my GP on the other-hands is more than happy to throw all manner of them at me.
Did anyone watch the Countryfile about a month ago? Was am interesting watch, the British Sugar factory is not too far from me, they used to use the waste heat from sugar production to grow tomatoes, but no use it to grow medicinal cannabis products. Was an interesting watch, they had thousands of plants growing a a time, so there is clearly a regulated supply there:

Bong? Religiously, for an hour? Report back 😑
If anyone was sold by my description of the Lovecbd oil on the previous page, they're welcome to my hardly touched bottle of the ashtray flavoured muck. 2 Quid in my paypal to cover postage and it's yours.

Have you ever considered a job in sales 😉
Thanks for the offer, but, trying to get my head around the way this stuff is sold, the LoveCBD stuff is 1.5% (just under actually) CBD and 98.5% snake oil (ashtray flavoured snake oil it seems).
I've become fairly cynical of it, not because I don't think CBD oil could be very helpful for some ailments and some people, but because it seems needlessly expensive, so sellers are trying to provide products at prices most consumers will take a stab at, but only offer tiny doses, I know we blame marketing for a lot of things in the MTB world (usually for good reason) but they rarely help either.
I'm going to give my oil a go, tbh if it makes a big difference, I've got a greenhouse and have found a supplier who'll ship low-thc, high-cbd seeds to the UK ha ha*
(* I won't do that)
