Whilst some might not care/ be ok about it I doubt very few parents [ of any generation] grow up with the dream of their child becoming a sex worker/whore. Few , if any, would encourage it so i think most would be displeased if not ashamed.
I have known a few [ not in that way] and some were pretty damaged [ before and doing it did not help] and some seemed happy to do it for the money.
Most would have preferred to do something else but its easy money of you can deal with it.

Can you see how words can be very offensive? Those terms above like slut or slag are a degrading, offensive and historically very sexist word that portrays much more about you saying it than the recipient.
I think the jury is out on sex work and how it fits in morally. I'm a liberal person, I don't like the idea of my morals limiting other peoples choices that do not harm anyone else, so I am not about to judge sex workers.

Just for clarity, the question wasn't around the morality of using a prostitute ( i personally wouldn't for what its worth).

one of my mates did. he loved her to bits she is genuinely lovely and I would happily challenge anyone who tried to define or abuse her with some of wrecker's language. To be honest I felt a bit disappointed in him for choosing to tell me about her past work, but struggle to understand why I feel so I guess it was her story to tell or not, not his.

Oh, and I don't hate prostitutes. I have no contact with them, they make no difference to my life. I have used some emotive words to describe them as THAT IS WHAT THE WORDS MEAN! They were invented to represent the oldest profession in the world. I didn't make tham up, but I'm not going to ignore them because some find them a bit icky. No, the topic seems to be passing you by, prostitutes can be male or female you're coming across as a sexist bigot.
It's sometimes hard to believe that we've made any progress in the last 50 years.
Anyone who has ever viewed porn has engaged the services of a sex worker seems a bit hypocritical to then call them abusive names but I expect it's got something to do with transferring the guilt some men feel at having to pay for sexual services.
A know someone who works as a stripper at Stringfellows she's a lovely lass who is considerably smarter than the men who pay her.

In answer to the op though I'd like to think the answer would be "yeah why should I care if she's a call girl or a doctor " I think in practice though it would go one of two ways - if she hated the work and I couldn't talk her out of it I think I'd have to walk away as I wouldn't be able to watch the damage, or of she was fine with the work I guess after a while I'd probably start to find it difficult and it would make me feel uncomfortable /inadequate.
So yes I would but I don't think it would last.
