Today I am copying every patent published by Australia from 1920 through to the end of 2009 to our mainframe - 1,561,185 records.

It's taking a while. 😕

What are you doing ? ( or should that be meant to be doing ? )

Currently migrating a bunch of Blade servers into a domain and bringing them up to baseline (sanity and health checks, driver updates etc).

Fun fun.

I do get to write lots of swear words and will get to see a counsellor to make sure I am ok. Handbags at dawn from a young junkie with lots of intent and no skill.

Writing personal performance reviews for the past year.

It looks like it should be an interesting work of semi factual experience-based fiction.

Designing wedding album on laptop downstairs and processing raw files from last weekend's weddings on the desktop upstairs.

The album is a nightmare as the bride has taken it upon herself to design the whole album for me on scraps of paper, with scant regard to the fact that the album is square, not rectangular 🙁

New clause in bloated contract coming up re album design.....

Doing a root cause analysis of a hydraulic issue on a sewage works to understand why we have an overflow at c450 l/s when it was designed for up to 900 l/s, and once I'm finished I need to work out how to fix the problem.
