makes sense when i remember someone on facebook yesterday had put “not a word ive heard of before” and im thinking hmmmmm…shurely shome mishtake, not heard of SHAKE before? so they may have been doing CAULK from the day before.
Timezones come into it too. A friend in Australia got upset about missing out on a word, I assumed it was CAULK but actually she'd just played SHAKE at 1 min past midnight or something.
I failed for the first time since starting to play it 38 days ago. First 2 words only got me 1 letter and after the 4th word there were three words than could fit, all with a different first letter only and I guessed the 2 wrong ones.
On it with Nerdle today. Happy with that :). Much more logical than Wordle I feel...

I’m blaming the bottom right for having too many words that could fit.
When you get a word like that, it's usually better to work on the others. There's a good chance you will confirm the missing letter from one of the other words. If you'd solved the top right, you would have eliminated one of the possible words, for example.

Irritated by this- on round 3 I had same as Harry, only the second letter missing, but by my count there were 5 valid words with the letters I had available.

Apparently, the NY Times trimmed the word list slightly (maybe some words were judged to be offensive?) Apart from that, they didn't change anything. People are imagining patterns when it's just randomness. Sometimes you are just going to get unlucky and there will be more possible words than you have turns left.
